Dingle Mart, Ireland’s most westerly mart, celebrates its 50th anniversary on Saturday 15 November. To mark the occasion, there will be a sheep and cattle sale, and I’m hearing that the auctioneers won’t have the microphone all to themselves. I’m informed that a local priest has been invited in to give a blessing to the stock and the mart during the sale.
A divine interval rather than divine intervention I suppose. All are welcome for what is sure to be a good event, and there will be a chance to grab a cup of tea and for martgoers to reminisce on sales gone by.
