Wicklow-based farmer Michael Keegan will complete a historic Mizen-to-Malin Head tractor run aboard a vintage Deutz D40L in aid of suicide prevention charities 3TS and Pieta House starting on Friday 21 August.

The Deutz in question was the one used by his grandfather Charlie Keegan when he won the World Ploughing Championships in 1964, the first world ploughing title ever won in the Republic of Ireland.

Michael will be joined by Galway man and classic tractor enthusiast Tony Killarney, co-founder of the activity, who will drive a 1971 Chevy pick-up as a support vehicle.

Michael hopes to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention along the way.
