Last Thursday saw Eamonn Tracey win another senior conventional title at the National Ploughing Championships.
The Carlow man came in ahead of Wexford’s Frank Cullen with 473 marks compared to Cullen’s 460.
Third, closely behind Cullen, was Martin Kehoe from Wexford with 459 marks.
In the Kverneland reversible test match John Whelan came out on top with 513 marks.
The Wexford man was followed by fellow Model County man Dan Donnelly who finished in second with 511 marks.
Cork west’s Jer Coakley was third while Liam O’Driscoll also from Cork west was fourth.
Kevin O’Driscoll from Cork west won the three-furrow conventional senior plough class with 218 marks at the Ploughing in Screggan, Co Offaly.
He was followed in second place by Wexford’s Billy Donnelly on 205 marks.
In third place, on 200 marks, was Colm Dineen from Kerry.
In the novice conventional senior plough class, coming in first was Ciarán Kavanagh from Carlow on 13 marks.
He was followed closely in second place by Leonard Deane form Cork west with 107 marks and third, on 95 marks, was Robert Hynes from Galway.
The farmerette plough class was won by Ellen Nyhan from Cork west with 213 marks, Katie Keogh from Wexford who also earned 213 marks came in second place.
Kildare’s Ailish Osborne was third in the 13-strong field.
Waterford’s Tom Beausang was the winner of the vintage two-furrow mounted plough class with 200 marks.
In joint second place was Wexford’s James Barron and Meath’s Oliver Smyth with 194 marks.

Meanwhile, winning the senior horse class on 93 marks was Eoin Hand from Monaghan, second was JJ Delaney for Cork east and third was Gerry Reilly from Galway with
85 marks.
The special horse plough class was won by Jeremiah Delaney from Cork east.
