This week, I spoke to a number of elected Conservatives who look to be throwing their weight behind Boris’s campaign, with more than one having an eye on becoming the next Cabinet Secretary for Scotland in a Johnson Government.
Meanwhile, Boris’s marmite appeal north of the border, has helped Jeremy Hunt being more popular for Holyrood Conservatives. One Tory MSP told me that to run the country you need a more stable home life than Boris currently enjoys.

Whoever wins the race to Number 10 will have their commitments to Scottish agriculture read back to them. Blunder and bluster won’t be an excuse to wriggle free from pledges, a promise is a promise.
