Cows, grass and family,

were John’s heavenly assembly.

He wore his heart on his sleeve,

first in line if you needed a heave.

From small beginnings the business grew,

bringing along others he knew.

Never afraid to speak out of canter,

often it was good humoured banter.

Criss-crossing roads,

reseeding he did loads.

Looking on from the side,

into green grass he’d glide with pride.

The bigger the challenge,

for a solution he’d scavenge.

Never afraid, always learning,

John would not like us yearning.

Despite his untimely call,

memories of John are our greatest haul.

Now, for his wife Pauline, kids Conor, Caoimhe, Niamh and Aoibhinn,

John is forever on call.

Rest in peace John.
