A status orange wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway and Mayo.

Met Éireann has said the warning will come into effect at 12pm on Sunday and remains in place until 4pm on Sunday.

“South to southwest winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80km/h with severe gusts in excess of 110km/h in the west.

“Where winds are onshore, there is a risk of coastal flooding,” Met Éireann said.

Yellow wind warning

A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon and Tipperary for Sunday.

Met Éireann has said it will be very windy, with southerly winds reaching mean speeds of 50km/h to 60km/h and gusts of 80km/h to 90km/h.

This warning is valid from 6am on Sunday until 4pm on Sunday.

Orange and yellow wind warnings are in place for Sunday

Another status yellow wind warning is in place on Sunday for Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford.

Met Éireann has said it will be very windy, with southerly winds reaching mean speeds of 50km/h to 65km/h and gusts of 90km/h to 110km/h.

Where winds are onshore, there is a risk of coastal flooding around high tide, it said.

This warning is in place from 5am until 5pm on Sunday.
