Butter has been the talk of the town, with trading prices reaching astronomical levels. However, those prices did not translate into the Irish retail world.

That is until now. The Dealer was out doing the shopping and saw that the pound of butter in most outlets has finally risen from the €2.19 floor to around €2.70.

A level where returns are made.

I do note that two of the bigger players are still hanging around the old floor price. Should butter return to a €2.19 level, it would be used as a loss leader.
