The mart trade has seen yet another increase in demand for weanlings and stores, with Martwatch showing strong rises in price.

Heifers have not been met with quite as strong of demand and prices are running slightly behind the same time last year as a result.

Where forward store bullocks and heifers are on offer, prices have increased on last week and where aged cattle are on offer, this is tending not to have much of a negative effect on prices.

In the south of the country, the number of cull cows on offer is well up on December’s levels and the trade is better than expected.
