Same Deutz Fahr (SDF) has announced that it will not be partaking in either EIMA show or Agritechnica in 2021. The Italian show EIMA is scheduled to take place between 19 and 23 October and Agritechnica show scheduled to take place in Germany on 14 to 20 November.

The announcement comes after “deep analysis” of the pandemic situation in Europe by the firm. Despite the control measures and the vaccination campaign worldwide, the tractor manufacturer said that the future scenario remains “very uncertain”.

Focusing on the safety of employees, dealers and customers, the SDF said it will not be participating in any trade fairs across Europe during 2021 in addition to EIMA and Agritechnica.

This decision follows John Deere’s announcement in early February that it too would be pulling out of Agritechnica 2021 for similar reasons. Shortly after John Deere broke the news, the German Agricultural Society (DLG) who organise Agritechnica released a statement claiming, that as of then more than 2,000 exhibitors were expected to take part in this year’s event with 90% of the exhibition ground already booked up. At this point SDF were among other brands including Amazone, Kubota, Kuhn, Krone, Horsch, Lemken, Pöttinger, Grimme and Vaderstad that were already registered for the event. However, the months ahead could potentially tell a different tale as to whether who is in and who is out.
