Last year, she set up a company called Seahorse Atlantic that develops and sells seaweed additives for pets (cats, dogs, hens and horses). Seahorse Atlantic has just celebrated a year of successful trading, now with over 50 stockists (Dairygold, Pet Mania and Pet World, to name a few) of Kelp Care, Seahorse Atlantic’s pet food additive.

Sarah has also agreed distribution deals with two key distributors in Britain and further afield in Poland.

Needless to say this did not happen overnight as Sarah had spent over two years undertaking research and commissioning veterinary trials in both the equine and canine arenas. Kelp Care has been well received, particularly within the equine industry, with Cian O’Connor using it as a daily additive for his horses.

Recently, Sarah received a highly commended second place for her Kelp Care for hens at PATS, a British pet show.
