Donegal’s Ivan Scott continued his dominance of the Irish sheep shearing circuit by claiming the 2019 All-Ireland and All-Nations Shearing Championship sponsored by MSD Animal Health.

Competition was fierce, with Scott first to shear his pen of 20 hoggets in a scintillating display. He finished in just over 13 minutes, averaging just over 40 seconds per sheep.

Finishing marginally behind Scott was Jack Robinson. The Derry man put in an excellent display but Scott pulled ahead for the last five hoggets shorn. Tom Perry finished third, followed by William Jones, Denis O’Sullivan and Stanley Allingham.

It was Scott’s second accolade of the day as he was presented with a master shearer certificate recognising outstanding ability in shearing by the British Isles Shearing Competitions Association (BISCA). Tom Kennedy from Galway was also honoured with a BISCA award.
