Glanbia lifted its September milk price by 0.38c/l excluding VAT with an additional September member co-op bonus. It means the Glanbia price to milk suppliers rises to 29.41c/l excluding VAT at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. This is made up of a base price of 28.63c/l, a co-op Glanbia Ireland profit share of 0.4c/l excluding VAT, and a September bonus of 0.38c/l excluding VAT.

On Tuesday, Lakeland Dairies lifted milk price by 1c/l bringing it to 30.4 c/l excluding VAT for September at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. This price is 1c/l ahead of the Glanbia September milk price.

Dairy markets have remained positive through the COVID-19 pandemic with Asian and African demand for powders continuing to drive global markets. Last week, the Ornua index lifted for September and there were price increases in the last two GDT auctions.

Kerry Group announced it has held September milk price at 29.4c/l excluding VAT at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. This week, Kerry also announced details of its most recent forward milk price.

The forward price is set at 30.36c/l excluding VAT (32c/l including VAT) at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. Application is open online from 14 to 21 October.

Suppliers can contract up to 30% of annual contracted volume.
