A Co Mayo fire officer told the Irish Farmers Journal that two units of Mayo fire service from Ballinrobe and Claremorris attended a fire in an agricultural building at Creevagh South, Cong around 8pm on Saturday.

Although firefighters arrived within 15 minutes of being alerted, they found a three-bay hayshed well alight on arrival. The fire officer said all contents of the building were destroyed, including around 150 bales of hay as well as a tractor and silo.

The shed was adjacent to a large sheep shed, which had just began to catch fire when firefighters arrived. The crews concentrated on saving this building, which contained livestock.
