Slovenian manufacturer SIP is to launch what it claims to be the world’s widest disc mower.

Measuring 14.55m (48ft) in width across its five 3.25m cutter beds, the Silvercut Disc 1500T FC is designed for huge output. The company said it has a peak output of 22ha/hr (54 ac/hr).

The machine weighs in at 9t and needs at least 350hp to operate it despite it being a non-conditioner mower.

The front mower cuts a path for the tractor carrying the rear mowers which are carried on a specially designed carriage. Behind the tractor are four mowers with the two rearmost mowers stepped out at the widest position to reach the massive cutting width.

The 1500T folds to 2.99m for transport and measures 7.50m in length. To gather in this grass, the company will also launch its Star 1250/50T four rotor rake.
