Met Éireann has issued a status orange wind warning for the entire country from midnight this Tuesday night until 5am on Wednesday. Southwest winds will reach mean speeds between 65 and 80 km/h, gusting up to 120 km/h, forecasters have warned.
A yellow warning applies before and after the most severe part of the storm, on Tuesday evening from 9pm and on Wednesday mornign until 9am. Mean wind speeds will range between 55km/h and 65 km/hr, gusting to 110 km/hr.
he UK Met Office, too, has issued a yellow wind warning for Northern Ireland from 1am to 2pm on Wednesday.
A status yellow rainfall warning is also in place for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Clare.
The warning is in place for 12 hours from 10pm tonight and up to 35mm of rain is expected to fall.
The continued poor weather will be of concern to many farmers who are experiencing difficulties managing their slurry levels on heavily stocked farms, and were hoping for drier weather conditions in order to spread slurry.
