After disposable cups and plastic straws, “the next battle will be on tea bags”, Gwladys Hall of Kantar Worldpanel told agribusinesses recently. An online petition calling on Barry’s Tea to make their bags 100% compostable is approaching 10,000 signatures. I suppose it’s either that or everyone carrying a keep-bag to dip into their keep-cup. The campaign started in the UK after consumer bodies revealed that around 20% of tea bag material was non-biodegradable plastic.
