Severe cuts in sheep factory prices have wiped €15 to €20 off the value of spring lambs in the last two weeks. Base quotes for Thursday have fallen by 20c/kg to 60c/kg or €8 to €12 on a 20kg carcase. IFA sheep chair Seán Dennehy said his committee is organising emergency meetings with factories to address cuts to farm incomes. Factories point to weather bringing a flush of spring lambs to the market and difficult trading conditions in export markets.
