Professor Thia Hennessy of UCC has been appointed to the board of Teagasc by the Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed. Currently the chair of agri food economics in UCC, Hennessy was formerly head of economic research at Teagasc.
Brendan Gleeson, DAFM and Professor Gerald Fitzgerald, UCC, have both been reappointed for second terms on the Teagasc board.
The closing date for applications for chair of Teagasc is Monday 11 June at 3pm. Dr Noel Cawley completes his second term as Chairman of the Teagasc Authority in September of this year.
