Michael Hunt is a suckler farmer from Derrinacartha, Co Roscommon.

He rears drystock from weanlings to two years of age, before selling them at the mart.

Like many farmers in his area, Michael was planning on giving up farming as his land kept getting wetter overtime. But his son, Brendan, has now said he also wants to farm drystock, which has reinvigorated Michael and made him change his mind, with plans in the pipeline to re-develop an old yard on the farm. \ Philip Doyle
