The annual Long Way Round 15km night walk or run in aid of the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association takes place on Saturday 25 November.
Mountain rescue
The organisers have highlighted that it is their most important fundraising event of the year and that it is vital to provide mountain rescue in the South East.

The walk begins at Gaelcholaiste Cheitinn at The Mall in Clonmel and the route is around the surrounding countryside over minor roads, forest tracks and an open mountain.
At the end of the race, there will be refreshments back at the start point for all those involved.
The route typically takes four hours to walk and an hour and a half to run.
A high visibility vest and a torch are mandatory and warm clothes and comfortable walking shoes are advised.
