The farmer led show of support for LGBTQ+ comes as a result of a partnership between Macra na Feirme and AXA Insurance.

We can expect to see a rainbow-wrapped tractor and trailer at this year’s Pride Parade which is taking place in Dublin on 29 June. Macra na Feirme announced this Wednesday that AXA Insurance is sponsoring its participation in the parade.
This will be the first year the rural youth and young farmer’s organisation will be present at the parade.
Macra na Feirme national president Thomas Duffy has encouraged all Macra members to participate on the day, giving thanks to Massey Ferguson for supplying the tractor. The trailer comes from Lynch Trailers in Co Cork which will too be wrapped for the event.

Duffy said “to our knowledge, this will be the first rainbow tractor and trailer to enter a pride parade in the UK or Ireland".
MEP for Midlands North-West Constituency Maria Walsh is a member of the Three Lakes Club in Mayo and will be joining Macra for the parade. Walsh believes this demonstration “sends a very important message to LGBTQ+ young people in rural Ireland; that you are welcome, included and celebrated in an organisation like Macra na Feirme”.
