Valtra’s new T254 tractor was awarded the title of Tractor of the Year 2018 at Agritechnica in Germany last November. Valtra plans to display the award-winning machine in Tullamore to make its debut at the National Ploughing Championships next week.
The tractor is powered by a six-cylinder 7.4-litre 271hp engine, which has a 600-hour service interval. The T254 is not available with a direct drive transmission, but can be ordered in a Versu, Active or in a HiTech version.
According to Valtra, the T254 model was introduced based on customer requirements in an attempt to reduce the step-up from the T series to the S series.

The award-winning Valtra SmartTouch armrest will also be on display at the stand. SmartTouch integrates into the ergonomic armrest with a multifunction drive-lever, valve switches, rear-linkage and PTO control, a touchscreen terminal and push-button control pad, bringing all tractor functions within easy reach of the operator.
Other tractors
Alongside the T series tractors, Valtra will also be displaying the full range of the A and N series machines.
Valtra has committed to exhibiting all five of its different transmission types including the Hi-Tech, Active, Versu and Direct.
