Between winter and spring crop husbandry, it’s a busy time for sprayers. Late last month, we caught up with Kilkenny From the Tramlines farmer James O’Reilly.
James was busy spraying his DK Expansion winter oilseed rape at the time in Kilkenny. Emmet McKinley of Irish Agri Videos was on hand to capture the moment.
James was spraying with his Fendt 939 and 30m Horsch Leeb 6LT travelling at 17km/h.

He was applying a sclerotinia spray of Filan (300g/ha) to the crop, which was around 30% through with petal fall. The crop was sown at 1.7kg/ha last August.
