A status yellow weather warning is in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal and Clare. Average wind speeds of 55km/hr to 65 km/hr with gusts of up to 110km/hr will sweep across the western side of the country.
South to southwest winds veering westerly overnight are expected. Winds will be strongest in coastal areas.
Many farmers who are in the middle of covering silage pits will be concerned that the weather won't be working in their favour.
