The incident occurred between 6am and 12.45pm, with Gardaí called to the scene at 1pm on 16 July.
The HSA is investigating the incident. While there were no witnesses to the fatality, it's believed that the woman was attacked by the livestock.
A post-mortem is to be carried out to clarify cause of death.
To date, 13 people have died on Irish farms this year and this death will have particular significance given that it's Farm Safety Week, which aims to highlight the potential hazards of working on farms.
