Zetor has just sold two new 170hp Crystal tractors in Ireland. They are the first Crystal models sold new in Ireland since 1992, some 27 years ago.

The two tractors in question are both the 170HD models. Both tractors were sold by West Waterford Agri Sales, one to a Kerry contractor and the other to a Waterford contractor.

The Crystals are powered by a 6.1 litre six-cylinder Deutz engine with a maximum output of 171hp. The powershift transmission is built in-house by Zetor themselves. The front axle is built by Cararro while it’s equipped with Bosch hydraulics.

The 170HD Crystal has a retail price of €89,500 plus VAT.

Earlier in the summer the Czech tractor manufacturer announced that a more progressive path lies ahead for the company, following on from a new factory build and expanded model range.

This news came after a number of years of depressed worldwide sales for the company.

Zetor believes traction on the Irish market can be regained, underpinning its plans on a realigned dealer network, which currently stands at 10 Irish dealers.

The brand said more appointments are set to come. In other news from the company, they are set to launch a flagship 220hp tractor in 2020.
