The Meath-based Connell brothers had a day to remember at the autumn Limousin sale in Roscrea on Monday.
Their 13-month-old Carrickmore Maximus ET set trade alight when he sold for the top price of €38,000. This price now stands as the highest male Limousin price to sell at public auction in the country, overtaking Kilcor Iceman, who sold for €28,000 in 2015.
The sire behind Maximus is the well-proven Ampertaine Foreman, while his dam is Baileys Ice Princess. This stands as the first bull to be sold off Ice Princess, who herself won everything before her, including the overall champion at the 2016 World Limousin Congress.
