Shown in Table B are the prices paid to 1m litre suppliers for milk produced in July across three different milk qualities as shown in Table 1 on the opposite page.
The milk qualities used in our calculations are adjusted each month depending on the individual data provided by each processor.
Normally July milk quality would be up compared to June, however, that it not the case this year.
With base prices and milk qualities both down in our 1m litre leagues, the prices paid are generally back by around 0.85p/l.
However, the Aurivo price is only down by around 0.12p/l and this has ensured the co-op is at the top across all three milk qualities. While that is partly because Aurivo had the highest base price in July, it is also due to new hygiene payments, including a “combined bonus” which pays 0.35p/l for milk at or below TBC of 15 and SCC of 200.
Behind Aurivo, Tirlán / Fivemiletown is in second across the three qualities, with Dale Farm and Lakeland competing for third and fourth. Leprino drops below Strathroy for low solids milk as its 0.75p mozzarella bonus is not applicable for milk below 4.08% butterfat and 3.26% protein.
Rolling prices
Table C shows the average rolling prices paid in the 12 months since August 2024. Tirlán leads, ahead of Dale Farm across both high and average solids milk. For high solids milk, Aurivo has edged ahead of Lakeland into third. For low solids milk. Aurivo has moved ahead of Tirlán into second.
