Co-op boards are meeting to set June milk price as commodity dairy prices continue to rise.

In the US, cheese prices hit an all-time record high this week for block cheddar.

Lakeland were first out to lift June milk price following a board meeting this week. It lifted base milk price by 1c/litre, which effectively will bring them to 28.5c/l ex VAT (30c/l incl VAT) at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat.

Glanbia met on Monday and also decided to lift milk price. It lifted by just shy of 1.5c/litre for June, bringing it to 28.55c/l ex VAT (30.1c/l incl VAT) at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. Kerry Group also lifted June milk price by shy of 1c/litre to 28.9c/litre ex VAT (30.5 incl VAT) at at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. The rest of the co-ops are meeting in coming days.
