Dairy prices from the latest GDT auction in New Zealand were generally stable.

At Tuesday’s auction in New Zealand, the benchmark dairy index was flat, as average dairy prices held steady.

The price of whole milk powder (WMP), which is the most important dairy commodity traded on the GDT auction platform and accounts for over 50% of product sold, fell almost 1% to just under $3,100/t (€2,800/t).

In contrast, the price of skimmed milk powder (SMP) gained 1% in value to hit $2,500/t (€2,280/t).

On the fats side, butter prices were unchanged at just over $4,000/t (€3,645/t), while the price of butter milk powder gained more than 3% reaching close to $2,500/t (€2,280/t).

Cheddar prices fell 1% to $3,830/t (€3,490/t), while the price of anhydrous milk fat dropped 1.5% in value to $5,000/t (€4,560/t).

Just under 40,000t of dairy product was sold at this week’s GDT event.
