European dairy prices have risen further over the last week, as weather concerns continue to worry markets. Butter prices, in particular, have risen sharply over the last fortnight, as stocks remain desperately tight.
Spot butter prices have risen a further €300/t in the last week and are trading in the region of €5,500/t. This is the highest price for butter since last October, when prices were coming off record highs.
Buyers have become increasingly wary of another price spike for butter after last year's sharp inflation. On cheese markets, gouda and mozzarella prices rose by €100/t this week to €2,800/t and €3,000/t respectively.
