The Department of Agriculture is looking for an astronaut, or at least that was my first thought when I spotted it’s looking to hire an Earth observation specialist. I was having visions of Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue launching a spaceship with a person on board to observe the Earth. Alas no, this specialist will be located in Portlaoise and will help the Department with CAP implementation when it comes to satellite and aerial imagery.
