The Department of Agriculture is hiring a number of veterinary research officers to be located at its central laboratory complex in Backweston or at one of the country's five regional veterinary laboratories (RVLs).

Salaries for the jobs will range between €56,616 and €96,289 and come with 30 days annual leave.

The Department is looking to hire officers for positions in three areas:

  • Diagnostic and investigative activities.
  • Bacteriology, parasitology and virology.
  • Anatomical pathology.
  • Applicants must hold a recognised veterinary degree (MVB or equivalent) such that the candidate is registered, or is eligible for registration, as a veterinary practitioner with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.

    Those looking to apply will also need to have a driving licence.
