Now, where an animal is being sold with a genomic evaluation, the martboard will display “Genomic Eval: Yes”.

The Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) has added a new update to the martboard screens to make it clearer to identify whether an animal has a genomic evaluation or not. Previously, where an animal was being sold with a genomic evaluation, the martboard displayed “Genotyped: Yes”. Where it was being sold without a genomic evaluation, it showed as blank.
Now, where an animal is being sold with a genomic evaluation, the martboard is displaying “Genomic Eval: Yes”. It will also show a “Genomic Eval: No” message to make it clear that, while the animal may be four or five stars, it does not have a genomic evaluation.
