Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy Fergus Ewing is hoping to meet Liz Truss Chief Secretary to the Treasury next month to discuss farm support budgets.
This comes after a promised review of agricultural funding made by Defra Secretary Michael Gove failing to materialise over summer.
Speaking to Farmers Journal Scotland, Mr Ewing said: “Gove promised a review last year but it looks like the UK treasury sidelined the issue and they are calling the shots.”

He went to explain that they had even informally agreed on a person to conduct the funding review.
Last week at the Turriff show Michael Gove gave assurances that funding would remain at the same level until 2022 or the next generation, but could not be draw on longer-term assurances.
