A farmer has been injured after his Simmental bull, weighing about a tonne, reared up and landed on him while in the show ring at the Aberdeen Christmas Classic show at Thainstone earlier this week.

Paramedics took Douglas Smith of Drumsleed Farm, Fordoun, to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are due to launch an investigation.
