The total monies paid out to date under the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) stand at €1.143bn, which included National Reserve and Young Farmer Scheme payments.

Should you still be awaiting payment, the Department of Agriculture has outlined the top five issues which are holding up payments.

  • Dual claims: Two applicants claiming the same land.
  • Over claims: Area claimed exceeds the area found by the Department.
  • Commonage evidence: Department awaiting evidence from the applicant that s/he is entitled to claim commonage.
  • Herd number issues.
  • Inheritance issues.
  • The Department is reminding all applicants who have been asked to clarify such queries to respond without delay so that their applications can be fully processed.
