Food fest

Cork Food Fest is part of the Experience Fest and the Cork Summer Show (13-15 June).

Cork Food Fest will bring you a taste of the very best of Cork’s artisan food products. Experience the Night Market on 13 June from 3pm-9pm and the Village Country Market on 14 June from 11am-8pm and again on 15 June from 11am-6pm.

Food event organiser, Conor Hyde of Bullseye Food Marketing says: “Over the last two decades, Cork has very definitely earned its reputation as Ireland’s food capital. The county is home to Ireland’s largest cluster of food businesses. Over 500 food companies, including major international brands, and more than 444 artisan and micro food and drink companies all call Cork home.

“I would encourage anyone living or visiting here to come along and taste what’s on offer.”

The Experience Fest also features live music, including Ham Sandwich, Paddy Casey, Pulses of Tradition, Mary Coughlan and Frances Black.

No Salt Cookery School – for lovers of clean and honest food

For lovers of clean and honest food, chef Brian McDermott has a wide range of cookery classes suited to all abilities in Ireland’s first No Salt Cookery School.

Brian says: “I use herbs and spices that complement but don’t overshadow the main dish. It’s important that my food is healthy, doesn’t contain any added salt, but, above all, tastes fantastic. This is something I am passionate about teaching.”

Guests are guaranteed a fun, informative and hands-on demonstration, teaching the no-salt philosophy. Enjoy special accommodation offers at the nearby four-star Redcastle Oceanfront Golf and Spa Hotel.
