FrieslandCampina has increased its milk price by 1.25c to 38.5c/kg (37.39 c/l plus VAT) for milk supplied in August.

This is up from an equivalent milk price of 33.5c/l in January this year.

It is expected that milk prices of most reference companies will increase further in August.

The prices for butter and cheese will continue their upward trend due to continuing demand and low stocks.

The protein price for August is €6.2847, the fat price is €3.1423 and lactose price is €0.6285/kg.

The guaranteed milk price applies to each kg of milk supplied with 3.47% fat, 4.41% protein and 4.51% lactose, excluding VAT.

From 2017, the amounts shown apply to an average supply of 800,000kg of milk annually, up from 600,000kg.

The volume-based premium and seasonal scheme are discontinued from the beginning of 2017.
