“We asked a straight question, they gave us straight answers.” So say the pupils from Saint Hugh’s NS, Dowra, Co Leitrim, who wrote to 155 GAA football legends asking: “What are your three greatest regrets from your career in football?”
The result is The Scrapbook of Regrets – a 222-page book where some of the greatest names in GAA (including Jack O’Connor, Brendan Devenney, Padraic Joyce and Harry Keegan) reveal their greatest regrets and, most importantly, how to rise again when you have been knocked down.
Crammed with photographs, newspaper cuttings and match programme images from different eras, this one-of-a-kind publication is sure to enthral GAA fans. This is a unique perspective not often told in GAA and makes for intriguing reading, as while it’s great to experience the goals, the glory and the gains, there is equal merit in how defeat, loss and regret can feel.
