A status yellow weather warning for heavy rainfall has been issued by Met Éireann for the northwest and northeast of the country.
The warning will come into effect from 6pm on Wednesday 27 January and will remain in place for 12 hours until 6am on Thursday 28 January.
Met Éireann has warned of the risk of localised flooding across Connaught as well as in counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Louth, Westmeath and Meath.
