Kerrygold butter and Wexford cheddar are just some of the products in the Irish food and drink hamper that Taoiseach Enda Kenny will bring to the White House.

Other dairy products include Little Milk Company cheese, Coolea Farmhouse Cheese and Cahill’s Farm Cheese.

Irish beef is also there, along with Barrys tea, Keogh’s crisps, Ballymaloe relish and O’Hara’s craft beers.

As is tradition, the US President will be given a bowl of shamrocks.

The Taoiseach announced last week he would be cutting short his visit to the US, from two days to one. Other planned events, including the American Ireland Fund dinner, will now be attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan instead.

Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney cancelled his St Patrick’s Day travel plans to be available for coalition talks.
