A new mounted disc drill has recently been launched by Horsch, which the manufacturer claims is a manoeuvrable seeding system ideal for smaller and irregular fields.

The new Taro HD and Taro SL mounted drills have a 6m working width and are combined with a front-mounted Partner hopper for a compact design.

The new Taro HD and Taro SL mounted drills have a six metre working width, and are combined with a front-mounted Partner hopper for a compact design.

The Taro 6HD is equipped with a tyre packer and PowerDisc seed coulters.

Horsch says the packer levels and creates consistent sowing conditions in front of each coulter, while the PowerDisc seed coulter offers optimum depth control, even in heavy conditions.

The Partner front tank is available with either 1,600l or 2,200l capacities, optimising the weight distribution of the tractor and seeding rig.

An offset method enables separate passes for tillage and sowing - offering greater flexibility.

Additional options

The Taro SL is equipped with a RollFlex packer and third generation TurboDisc seed coulters. Additional equipment options are available to adapt the machine to customer requirements.

The 3,000kg deadweight is low for a 6m machine and it is available with 12.5cm and 15cm row spacings.

The optional selective hose system for the two distributor towers and a Partner has an electric half-width shut-off.

This allows row spacing to be changed from 12.5cm to 25cm or 15cm to 30cm.

New 3m strip till drill

Up to now, the Horsch Focus range of Strip till seed drills were only available in 4m and 6m versions.

However, due to the ever-increasing popularity of strip till systems, Horsch has announced the launch of a new 3m version.

Horsch have announced the launch of a new three metre strip till drill.

Being labelled the Focus 3TD, this drill is equipped with 10 TerraGrip tines, which Horsch says can be combined with low disturbance or ultra-low disturbance points for deep loosening and targeted fertiliser placement.

Overload protection is 630kg, with a trip height of 26cm.

The double hopper has a capacity of 3,500l, with the option to add a 400l ‘MiniDrill’ for added flexibility when sowing oilseed rape and cover crops.

The German firm says that TurboDisc III coulters ensure exact seed placement, now available in row widths of 15cm and 30cm.
