It is to be misty and mostly cloudy today, according to Met Éireann. The rain will turn heavy and persistent in western and northern areas during the afternoon and evening, becoming windy. Top temperatures of 10°C to 14°C in strong and gusty southwesterly winds.

There will be heavy rain overnight in the west and north. Elsewhere will be cloudy with patchy light rain. Lows of 4°C to 8°C, coldest in the north. Winds will be fresh to strong and gusty westerly.
