John Deere has recently achieved a benchmark result in the DLG PowerMix test for transport applications for tractors over 250hp with its 7R 330.

The 6250R previously set the record in the category below 250hp rated horsepower in 2018, which it still holds.

With its Stage V engine, the 7R 330 achieved a fuel consumption of 375g/kWh and 17g/kWh of AdBlue (DEF).

This translates to a saving of 8g/kWh diesel and 28g/kWh AdBlue compared with its nearest competitor within the same horsepower class.

Hourly savings

John Deere claims that this saving equates to an hourly saving of €1.50 to €2.00 depending on fuel prices.

The DLG test centre is based in Groß-Umstadt, Germany. It tests a broad range of machinery and components to international standards and regulations, as well as developing its own standards.

The DLG PowerMix tests tractors for their output, efficiency and fuel consumption. The test consists of 14 cycles that simulate various loads on the tractor so that an accurate result for output, efficiency and fuel consumption can be obtained.

These loads include pure draught work (ploughing/cultivating), but also mixed work that applies load to the tractor's transmission, PTO and hydraulic system. The test also simulates heavy and light transport work.

The 7R 330 was launched at Agritechnica in 2019. It features the CommandPro joystick and updated cab. It delivers 373hp with Intelligent Power Management (IPM) and power-to-weight ratio of 30kg/hp.
