Leaving Certificate results will be issued on Monday 7 September, three weeks later than usual Minister for Education Norma Foley has announced.

The first round of CAO offers will take place four days later on Friday 11 September.

The Minister said these dates will work with the CAO college entry system and UCAS, the college application process in the UK.

Calculated grades

Over 61,000 Leaving Cert students, including those studying agricultural science, are eligible to receive calculated grades, which are being issued this year based on teachers’ grade projections in lieu of the Leaving Cert being sat.

“Over 450,000 individual grades have to be prepared and checked and the outcomes need to be reviewed using different demographic characteristics, which will include gender and socio-economic status to ensure that the grades are as fair and equitable as possible,” said Minister Foley.

Student portal

On Monday 20 July, the student portal for Leaving Cert calculated grades will open. Students will receive a text message next week notifying them of this.

On the portal, students will be able to confirm they wish to receive their calculated grades.

Leaving Cert students will initially have registered for calculated grades on this portal in May.
