Some 2,945 people working in farming, forestry, fishing and mining are now on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP).
This is a drop from the 8,600 in the sector that were in receipt of the payment in May. From 17 September 2020, the Pandemic Unemployment Payment will move from two rates of payment to three rates:
If you earned over €300 (gross) per week you will now receive €300 per week.
If you earned between €200 and €300 (gross) per week the rate will now be €250 per week.
If you earned less than €200 (gross) per week the rate will be €203 per week.
Those in the sector can also avail of the Enhanced Illness Benefit, with 580 people in the sector in receipt of this payment as of this week.
