Some 75 farmers have been paid to date under the Weather-Related Crop Loss Support Measure, the latest figures from the Department of Agriculture show.

Of the 167 farmers who applied to the scheme, the figures show that less than half have been paid to date.

Compensation

The scheme, which was opened to compensate tillage farmers affected by the wet weather of September 2016, closed to applications in August of 2017.

To date, payments totalling €337,000 have been issued to some 75 applicants.
