DEAR SIR: I am a doctor who reads The Lancet weekly. A critique of their recent outrageous article needs to be written.

They promote reduction of beef, chicken and dairy produce by 50-90%. They appoint a group of think “experts” to form a panel and launch a broadside on meat and dairy produce.

They are an agenda-driven journal (as are most journals) and strive to manoeuvre public opinion to suit their goals.

The veracity of their article needs to be questioned. The background world views and publications of their experts needs to be outed.

Their authority to make such sweeping statements from “the higher moral ground of their prestige as the number one medical journal in UK” needs to be challenged.

Anyone could assemble a panel of experts to say what you want them to say.

The vastness of their claims couched in climate change and cancer prevention landscapes is very politically correct and of course, every vegan, vegetarian and climate change supporter and medical person will be taken in by their clean diet, clean air, low-carbon guff.

Maybe it is best to ignore it and see if it disappears?

Expert panels

The Lancet has expert panels on quite a few areas and parades itself as the truthful conscience of the people promoting their world view as they pretend to defend and advocate for the best interest of the planet and the people.

The Lancet is not the voice of global consensus on weather, health or societal wellbeing.
