With the increasing reliability of machine and field data communications in modern agriculture, farmers and contractors are demanding greater compatibility between different parties. These parties include machinery manufacturers, software developers, farm advisers etc.
Enabling more open access, John Deere has enabled a new function named More Tools on MyJohnDeere.com – operations centre (web version).
Farmers have already been using the central platform to manage tasks and transfer data to machines.
To date, more than 120 companies are connected globally
The new function allows users to process data from third-party software companies, importing information via the operations centre alongside John Deere’s existing software solutions. Users can fully customise their operations centre to suit their business needs.
Any data exchanges between the operations centre and connected software companies are under the control of the data owner, either manually or through automatic synchronisation agreements.
This is to benefit customers when transferring details such as field maps, application rates, yield mapping etc. To date, more than 120 companies are connected globally.
John Deere hosted the first Develop with Deere conference in November 2018, with more than 40 global companies present in order to develop further applications.
